India and Russia have signed St Petersburg Declaration as a roadmap to enhance cooperation after the 18th annual bilateral summit. The Declaration was signed following the annual bilateral summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Both the leaders have signed 12 agreements including the Saint Petersburg Declaration.

The Telangana Government has launched a digital wallet, named T-Wallet, which doesn’t charge transaction fee from consumers. T-Wallet is bi-directional in nature. While consumers use it for public and private transactions, the government can use it to make payments to various beneficiaries. It also can be used over the web version.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis launched a web portal ‘Mahaswayam’ that will cater to job seekers, employers, entrepreneurs, and training institutes who can avail details regarding skill development and employment.

The first Mega Food Park in the state of Odisha MITS Mega Food Park Pvt. Ltd. at Rayagada has been inaugurated by Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Minister of Food Processing Industries. To give a major boost to the food processing sector by adding value and reducing food wastage at each stage of the supply chain with particular focus on perishables, Ministry of Food Processing Industries is implementing Mega Food Park Scheme in the country.

Reserve Bank of India has appointed S. Ganesh Kumar as Executive Director. His appointment is consequent upon voluntary retirement of Chandan Sinha. The central bank currently has 11 Executive Directors. Prior to being promoted as ED, Ganesh Kumar was Chief General Manager-in-Charge, Department of Information Technology in the Reserve Bank.

India has ranked 137th out of 163 countries on Global Peace Index 2017 published by The Institute of Economics and Peace. This is the eleventh edition of the Global Peace Index (GPI). Iceland has been named the world’s most peaceful country, topping the Global Peace Index for the tenth consecutive year followed by New Zealand and Portugal at second and third position while Syria has been named the least peaceful country.

Jet Airways has announced the appointment of Vinay Dube as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

State Bank of India and the World Bank announced that they had financed 100 MW of rooftop solar projects worth Rs 400 crore in India. SBI has availed of a loan of $625 million from the World Bank for on-lending to viable Grid-Connected Rooftop Solar PV (GRPV) projects undertaken by developers, aggregators and end-users, for installation of rooftop solar systems.

Shashi Shekar Vempati has been appointed as the CEO of Prasar Bharati.

The cricket board for West Indies, on its 91st anniversary, has re-branded themselves as Cricket West Indies from the former West Indies Cricket Board. The board also announced in a media release on their official website that the cricket team from now on will be officially known as ‘WINDIES.’
